Lcd Effect

Lcd Effect

Here i am going to show you how to create a cool lcd/night vision image.

First you want to open a new image (File>New) and set it to 1px wide, 4px high. Now zoom in until you see a block looking image clearly. Using the Pencil tool scaled to .10px , paint a hue as shown from dark gray to a off white color, but not exactly white.

Now you want to save this as a pattern, so copy all (Ctrl + A, then Ctrl+C) and go Edit>Paste As>New Pattern. Save as "lcd". Now you want to find a good scene to go with your effect. In this case, I am going to use a tiger. Open your image, create a new layer and head for the bucket tool. Set to fill pattern, and choose your lcd pattern, fill the new layer, set mode to Multiply.

Now to get the final effect, create a new layer, fill (fg color fill) with a blue color #00b9e7 and set layer to Multiply, and i used an opacity level of 32. And there you go, an lcd recreation. Now if you want a more night vision effect, just fill with a green color, on a more appropriate image of course.
