Create a cool Civil War looking grunge map.

In this Tutorial, you only need three main images:

1) A colored map of your area from Mapquest, Google, Yahoo etc.

NB: To avoid any copyright infringements, remove scales, banners,

nav icons etc.

A good example:

note that nav icons, scales, copyright info are removed. To remove, simply use the clone stamp tool and "heal" the areas.

2) A grunge looking paper, like this.

3) A historical building, person. event etc. As long as it corresponds to the area.

Now, after you've finished editing the map, open the paper layer and set it on top of the map. Set the layer mode to multiply.

Next open the historical image and place it above the paper layer to multiply also and presto, you've got a great image.

Feel free to experiment with different background images and areas.
